As you may know, we presently experience a one-day shipping delay as the minimum. In other words, any of our Canadian-produced goods, or any combination with Canadian goods, will be delayed. Nothing new, this is been going on a while and change is slow in Washington. This is due directly to the governmental response to the terrorists attacks of September 11, 2001.
What happened is this: The Whitehouse formed the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which was tasked with overseeing the United States’ turf. Those involved got busy fast. One task was to audit various branches of government. One branch they audited was the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), of course. There they discovered a number a loopholes in need of closing. The ten-year-permits and relaxed attitude we had all gotten accustomed had to do an about-face.
Anyway, the reason for saying this is so that you will be better informed. And please note, our steady commitment to quality, a vision we share our affiliates, has remained unchanged. With that you can rest assured. Oh, and sorry for the delay.
