[…] accessibility is something which shouldn’t be discounted or ignored.
I am very pleased to announce and quite honored that this site — in its version four form — was named “Site of the Month” for October, 2005. And not just once, but twice!
First it was named a winner by the folks at James Martin Design, a rich media (as in Flash) developer. This is quite the honor since this site isn’t a Flash site. As an aside, James Martin Design gave me a second award, also for “Site of the Month” for October, 2005, for my personal web design portfolio, Green-Beast.com. The latter has been a huge hit among my web development peers. read more about this.
The second win was from the Guild of Accessible Web Designers (GAWDS), also named “Site of the Month” for October, 2005. It was so-named for the site’s accessibility features, usability, and general appeal. It won by a percentage vote of a whopping 62%. This is quite the honor with international exposure. Web accessibilities are often overlooked in favor of bells and whistles, but to someone needing special accessibility features — and there are more than you may realize — accessibility is something which shouldn’t be discounted or ignored. I’d love to do a grower’s site. Maybe someday. It seems as if it would be a natural fit. If, by chance, you’re interested, please take a moment to contact me and let me know.
