The Green Spot Ltd. is now hiring! We have one part-time position available immediately which will become a full-time position after an approximate probationary period of employment and training of about six months — depending on the individual’s capabilities. Initially the duties required of this position will include the following:
- General office assistance.
- Occasional telephone work.
- Packing and shipping.
- Limited lab-related work.
- Paid in-house technical training.
Later, after the required probationary period of employment and training, the hours will probably be expended to full time with our base benefits package (limited to full medical, flex time retirement investment plan, vacation time, sick days, holidays, and employee discounts), the rate of pay will be increased, and the duties will be expanded to include the following in addition to that listed above:
- Customer and sales consultation.
- Expanded telephone work.
- Expanded lab-related work.
- Continued technical training.
We have no requirements per se, other than knowing how to use a personal computer running the Windows XP operating system. Software knowledge isn’t at all necessary as we have our own custom contact management software on which you will be trained. Common-sense with the use of computers is a must. Additional skills and experience that might help will include the following:
- A passion for and basic understanding of growing plants
- Consultative and telephone sales experience.
- Understanding of basic entomology (e.g. insects have six legs).
- A patient and considerate understanding of others’ needed.
- Transportation to and from our location in Nottingham, New Hampshire.
- A willingness to learn and then pass along this knowledge to others.
- A solid work ethic, reliability, and dedication.
- A desire for a long-term permanent position.
Compensation will be based on the candidate’s experience and abilities, and will increase as the scope of said experience and abilities increases. We’re not rich, but we are fair. We offer good employment in a small, low-key atmosphere. Example: Our dress code is clothing required… that’s it.
