Waste is a terrible thing, that’s why we reuse everything we can here at The Green Spot, and what we can’t reuse we recycle. The items we reuse are ice packs, foam boxes, even packing materials like packing peanuts (which we get from the University of New Hampshire), and shredded paper (which we make from our own in-bound junk mail). Not only is this action expected because we are a “green” company, but it is our responsibility as stewards of our planet. But not everything can be reused by us. We need your help, in such a way that you may find benefits your needs.
Every year we print thousands of catalogs, and no matter how hard we try to predict numbers sent and later requested by visitors, we always tend to have a few hundred left over at year’s end. We don’t run out because we err on the side of caution — we don’t want to run out early — but the erring does leave us with copies we don’t know what to do with. For years we addressed this problem by giving them away in bulk to garden clubs, trade show biocontrol presenters, and even some university events (mostly at Cornell University in New York). This works, but we still have leftovers.
Due to these persistent overages, we decided to post this information here in our Bug Blog so others would realize we do this. So, if you have an event coming up, a garden club, or whatever, contact us to request some of our older catalogs — 50, 100, however many copies you need. The information in these catalogs is still pretty relevant, and always educational, so there is value in this offering. If the catalog’s final recipient wants more current info, they can ask us for a current copy or learn more on our site.
The catalogs are free, there are no strings, we will even pay the shipping so you will have no out-of-pocket costs. Just tell us how many you need and a street address to send them to. The delivery address, however, must be within the United States. Offer good while supplies last.
