Every once in a while we do a shout-out for more articles from our readers and practitioners. This is one of those times. For years we’ve been big fans of compounded anecdotal evidence. Historically this information has come from you. You’re out there, you’re doing it, and you’re learning stuff we want to learn ourselves then pass along.
So what exactly are we looking for:
- Stories about your trials and tribulations of using biocontrols, naturally occurring or commercially procured.
- Stories about your trials and tribulations of dealing with certain plant pests and diseases.
- Your homegrown or homeopathic remedies interest us. Have a recipe that is safe yet works?
- Research and testing results. Do you or have you tested biocontrols and systems on an academic level?
- Creatively written anecdotes are always welcome, provided they tell a story that readers can gain insight from.
- Garden center or interiorscaper stories about dealing with customers or clients not yet in the know.
- Horror stories about things going wrong with a biocontrol or IPM program are always revealing and helpful to others.
- Program tactics that have worked for you. This may include scouting regimen breakdowns. What’s working for you?
- Unusual situations that reside outside normal conditions are always helpful in knowing the fringes of our craft.
- Heard about a new bug that might be commercially produced, or a new pests that has just invaded our shores?
- Something not listed? Sure thing, as long as it’s relative to what we do here and what’s of interest to our readers.
To contribute, just contact us to establish communication, at which point you may pitch your idea for a contribution. If we like it — and we probably will — we’ll then instruct you how to get the article and any supporting content like photos to us. We cannot pay you for your contribution, but if you have a website we will provide a link so you can at least get some exposure. All contributions will be properly credited unless instructed otherwise.
