Thriving on Experience: Please Share

Posted August 30th, 2009 by Mike Cherim

Write an Article! A few times a year we do this shout out calling to writers who grow and growers who write. We want you to write an article or two for us, to be published right here in this blog, and to be seen by all. We want to learn, and further teach, from the experiences you share. University-level research is extremely beneficial to our understanding of IPM, but truth is, we’ve gotten just as much from people just like you. Anecdotal evidence is what some will call it, but in our eyes it’s gold.

Last Chance Orius Sale

Posted August 25th, 2009 by Mike Cherim

Orius Sale! This may not apply to you if you grow indoors — provided the space is kept at 73°F or above — or if you’re in the south, but for many of us in the northern tier states, our window for using the aggressive thrips predator Orius insidiosus is closing quickly. Persimilis Mites On Sale Now

Posted August 10th, 2009 by Mike Cherim

Mite Sale! It’s ironic. Our last sale was inspired by wet weather and this sale’s based on the opposite weather. It’s not like we’re having a drought, yet, and the humidity has been high, but the heat has been, well, really hot and the number of orders for spider mite predators has spiked. In light of this, we decided to help you. Thus, a sale on the very popular curative mite predator Phytoseiulus persimilis.

Natural Pest Control: What to Expect

Posted August 5th, 2009 by Mike Cherim

You may have or may want to venture forth into the world of natural pest control. If that’s you, then naturally you’re wondering what to expect from doing so. Well, as said of life by Forest Gump, it’s like a box of chocolates; you never know what you’re going to get. And if that’s not entirely apt, how long it will take to become predictable will vary wildly from person to person. Here are some considerations:
