Thriving on Experience: Please Share

Posted August 30th, 2009 by Mike Cherim

Write an Article! A few times a year we do this shout out calling to writers who grow and growers who write. We want you to write an article or two for us, to be published right here in this blog, and to be seen by all. We want to learn, and further teach, from the experiences you share. University-level research is extremely beneficial to our understanding of IPM, but truth is, we’ve gotten just as much from people just like you. Anecdotal evidence is what some will call it, but in our eyes it’s gold.

Who We Want to Hear From

These are a few of the groups we’d love to get material from:

  • Greenhouse Growers
  • Farmers and Orchardists
  • Interiorscapers
  • Home Gardeners
  • Collection Curators
  • University Researchers
  • And Others…

If you want to do this, to share with others — as well as getting your name in lights and a link-back to your site — please contact us. You might also want to see our author’s guidelines. To see what others have done, among them folks like Raymond A. Cloyd and Clem Cirelli, Jr., please check out our Contributors category.

What We Want?

Your real-world experiences is what we want more than anything. That includes negative experiences as well as positive ones. After all, we can’t avoid your mistakes if we don’t know about them. Also of interest is your hear about your innovations that make IPM more effective, inexpensive, etc.

Can’t or Won’t Write?

If writing isn’t your cup of tea, but you’d still like to share, maybe being interviewed would be more to your liking. If that sounds more like it to you, again, please contact us. If you want to check out some other interviews before making the leap, please check out out Real Growers category. We hope to hear from you soon.
