December 2009 Holidays Heads-Up

Posted December 7th, 2009 by Mike Cherim

Holiday Closure This entry is meant to communicate our up-and-coming holiday schedule to those who might have missed our deadlines and schedule. We don’t want anyone to be inconvenienced. We will be closed for a week for one thing, and then there are the typical delays caused by the holidays in general. Christmas, New Years Day, even Boxing Day in Canada. They all impact us. We’re here to help you sort it all out.

Our Holidays Closure

We will be closed the week before Christmas, from Monday the 21st through and including Friday the 25th, Christmas day. Five days, nine if you include the preceding and following weekends. We will re-open the 28th, only to be closed again that Friday the 1st of January. We will ship that week, and hopefully all will go well even though it’s a short week. Do, however, note that to get a biocontrols order that week, you must order by the deadline next week (14th-18th) at the latest. If you want bugs but wish to avoid all the holiday confusion, then please order this week (7th-11th) so as to get delivery next week.

Ordering Online

If ordering online during the holidays, please note that our shop processes payments instantaneously. Thus there will be a slighter bigger delay between ordering/paying and shipping. This is a trade-off for the more attractive shipping rates we can apply to online orders.

An Explanation

If by chance you raised your eyebrows when our week’s closure was noted above, let me explain. We are a small company. A very small company. Tiny in fact. We do not have the personnel required to remain open while even one person takes a vacation. Our viable options include closing our doors for a week while staff takes a much needed break, or suffer through it never taking time off. We prefer the former option; it is geared towards our remaining sane. If you’ve called us and talked to Georgann, you know, and more than likely, appreciate, how pleasant and personable she is (she’s really like that all the time). She would not be able to stay that way if she didn’t take a little time off for herself and her family.

All we can say is that we hope you understand — and of course, happy holidays. Take some time off for yourself and your family if you can. We’re rooting for you!
