We’ve always felt this way, but recently two things happened making us reflect on this matter once again.

Nematodes For Grubs, Now On Sale
Late July through September is an excellent time to apply parasitic nematodes to certain white grubs, such as the larvae of Japanese beetles. That’s because the adult beetles lay eggs which hatch into little grubs at that time and they’re very susceptible so young. They overwinter in this stage, then continue to feed and develop in the spring, growing ever larger. In July they pupate. Between the spring and pupation time they are still susceptible to parasitism by nematodes. Thus, this is another good time to launch your attack. To help, we’ve put the Heterorhabditis bacteriophora or “Hb” nematode — the one you need for lawn grubs — on sale.

Safe Slug and Snail Bait Sale
With so many items being needed at this time of year, we didn’t know what to put on sale for the next two weeks. We found some inspiration in the news. You may have heard about our recent flooding here in New England. It’s been rough. It’s still rough going for many folks, especially in parts of Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. All that wetness, and seeing a few slugs moving about, helped us decide to assist folks in taking an active approach against slugs and snails — who love moist conditions — by putting our Sluggo Iron phosphate Bait on sale.
