Plant Disease Book on Sale Now
The holidays aren’t our big time of year. We don’t sell video games, clothing, housewares, or any of the other popular gifting categories. And nobody gifts ladybugs or sticky traps for Christmas — thank goodness for that. But it doesn’t mean we have nothing to offer. We do. Books make great gifts and those on our Required Reading page might make someone very happy. Check ‘em out.

Thanksgiving 2011

Thanksgiving is this week. Not sure about you, but even in tough times — which we’re feeling — we still have a lot to be thankful for: work, families, health, life itself, freedom, and more. And in this case, since we’re a company speaking to our customers, we’re personally thankful for you. I mentioned tough times, cash flow has been slow for us, but it’s not because you’re not buying from us. You are and allowing us to survive. Cash flow issues are our own fault, giving away too much of the farm so to speak, but more on that at another time. At this time we just want to say happy Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Ladybug Sale, 2010
Due to the up-and-coming holiday in two weeks we decided that our ladybugs, Hippodamia convergens, would be an ideal item to offer on sale, logistically speaking that is. As a reminder, we will be closed Thanksgiving day and the day after. The holiday and our digestion closure are a challenge. Ladybugs are drop-shipped on our behalf so that makes life easier. It makes this sale doable.

Order Quad Bumblebee Hives Now for 2011
Due to the falling off of honeybees the demand for bumblebees has been through the roof. Thus, our Quad outdoor hives should be ordered between now and January for early spring delivery. Last April the backlog was reaching 10-12 weeks (better than the year before) leading to lots of people disappointed they couldn’t have their bees immediately. We don’t want that, moreover, you don’t want to lose out on any crop pollination opportunities.
