Product Description

CHRYSOforce™ R is the green lacewing, Chrysoperla rufilabris — a voracious generalist whose larvae eat just about any soft-bodied pest they can catch, and they are always hungry. This format ships as eggs on a card: each sheet holds at least 5,000 viable eggs plus food, divided into 30 segments you can hang right where the pests are. Use it across ornamentals, hemp/cannabis, vegetables, soft fruits, and tree nurseries, in greenhouses, indoor facilities, fields, gardens, and orchards. Note: green lacewing does not control root aphids.

How the green lacewing controls pests

Once they hatch, the larvae seek out prey and suck the life out of them, consuming up to 50 aphids a day, and they are capable of attacking large prey. Females can lay 400-plus eggs near pest hot spots. Green lacewing stays active in low light and cooler temperatures, which makes it a flexible predator across many crops.

Release Instructions

Dividing the card: Each sheet contains at least 5,000 viable eggs and food divided into 30 segments. To divide them, turn the card over and either tear or cut along the perforations.

Release method: Release as soon as the lacewing larvae start to hatch — the eggs turn from green to gray before hatching. Hang the segments near the pest infestation, keeping them in protected areas away from direct sunlight. Eggs continue to hatch over 24–48 hours, and the segments can be moved after about 12 hours to aid dispersal. For persistent pest problems, apply at pre-planned intervals (every two weeks).

Storage: Do not cold store the lacewings. Release as soon as the eggs begin hatching.

Monitoring: Larvae are small, fast, and hard to find in the crop — the best time to look is in the evening. The clearest sign the lacewings are working is a drop in pests a few days after release.

Advisories: Ant control is very important — ants are attracted to the eggs and food, and they protect aphids from predators for their honeydew. Adult lacewings need pollen, nectar, or other suitable food to breed; Wheast™ can be given to adults as a supplement.
