Product Description

Green Lacewing Eggs in Hexcel Unit – CHRYSOforce™ R Biocontrol for Aphids

Green lacewing eggs in hexcel unit packaging provide a clean, organized, and highly effective way to introduce beneficial insects into your growing environment. CHRYSOforce™ R harnesses the biological power of Chrysoperla rufilabris to provide immediate and long-term protection from aphids, thrips, and other soft-bodied pests.

Why Choose Green Lacewing Eggs in Hexcel Unit?

Green lacewing larvae—often called “aphid lions”—are known for their appetite. Each larva can consume up to 50 soft-bodied pests per day. These eggs hatch into larvae that begin hunting pests as soon as they emerge, including:

  • Aphids
  • Thrips
  • Mealybugs
  • Whiteflies
  • Mite larvae
  • Small caterpillars and insect eggs

The hexcel frame is made of breathable material that allows easy visual inspection and staged release, helping maximize control efficiency and coverage.

Ideal For Use In:

  • Greenhouses
  • Indoor growing facilities
  • Garden beds
  • Field crops
  • Tree nurseries and orchards

Supported Crops:

  • Cannabis and hemp
  • Vegetables (leafy greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc.)
  • Soft fruits (strawberries, blueberries)
  • Ornamental flowers

Application Instructions:

Each hexcel frame contains developing lacewing larvae within breathable cells:

  • Gently peel back one layer of organdy mesh
  • Tap larvae directly onto infested areas of the crop
  • Place the remaining frame near target plants
  • Avoid exposure to direct sunlight or wind
  • Use immediately upon receipt

How It Works:

Once hatched, the larvae use chemical and visual cues to locate prey. They pierce soft-bodied insects with sickle-shaped jaws, extract fluids, and move on to the next target. This rapid predation helps interrupt pest cycles quickly.

Monitoring Success:

Although lacewing larvae are stealthy, their work is visible: reduced aphid numbers, fewer honeydew droplets, and healthier leaves within 2–4 days.

Best Practices:

  • Control ants prior to release—they defend aphid colonies
  • Avoid yellow sticky traps during early releases
  • Reapply every 1–2 weeks if pest pressure persists

CHRYSOforce™ green lacewing eggs in hexcel unit packaging offer a precise and eco-friendly method to control aphids and other garden pests. With targeted release, self-sustaining populations, and chemical-free operation, these beneficial insects bring balance back to your growing environment.

Release instructions for the use of Green Lacewing Larvae Chrysoperla rufilabris

*If you would like to observe the larvae, or check the contents of the bottle or bulk bag before release, sprinkle some of the contents onto a piece of white paper. You will see larvae crawling amongst the rice hulls. The larvae are shipped two different ways:

1. Bottle or bulk bag : Lacewing eggs are incubated at the insectary and upon arrival will have hatched into larvae. They are mixed with rice hulls for easy distribution and should be released the same day received. Simply sprinkle the contents over the target area. The bulk bag will come with a separate plastic scoop you can use to release the larvae.

2. Hexcel : pre-fed lacewing larvae are still developing inside individual cells also known as a “rearing frame” covered on both sides with organdy material. You can observe the larvae in the cells if you hold the frame into the light. The larvae should be released the same day received (no later than the following day) unless otherwise stated on your packing slip. Peel back one side of the organdy material an inch at a time and “knock” or “tap” the larvae out onto the target area. Next, peel off the organdy on the other side of the frame. You can lay the organdy and frame next to a plant to ensure any remaining larvae can crawl out and onto the plant(s).

The larvae will feed for approximately 10 to 14 days (depending on climatic conditions and available food source) and then pupate. You may wish to introduce more larvae at that time.
Do not cold store the larvae.
